During 1980 decade, there was a rupture in Latin-American communication research, which result was the birth of a new paradigm, which uses an anthropologic conception of culture, from which communicative processes start to be tackled. Contributions of this paradigm to communication for the development, a field that already had a long tradition in Latin America Latina, have been particularly meaningful. This work is devoted to examine and discuss their main backgrounds and to identify and clarify relations among them.
The last two decades have become a very good field for foreign direct investment in Colombia (IED), mainly in natural resources from which the mining extractions have been outstanding. However, due to the characteristic of the country in cultural, hydric, and biodiversity richness, there has appeared a resistance of communities belonging to ethnic groups, peasants, and urban people, stating “no to mining, for the defense of live, territories and common goods.†This article refers to the incidence of the use of communicative collaboration platforms, related to social web, which articulate in the framework of alternative mediations, whose purpose is to active communicative networks helping the fights understood as resistances, focused on stopping the ig mining, installed on the base of policies and norms which introduce themselves in territories impacting the life of diverse population on which this extraction projects fall.

Masculinity Hierarchy and Its Audio-Visual Representation in the series Parks and Recreation
Miguel Sánchez Maldonado, Brenda Azucena Muñoz Yáñez
In this article, the concept of gender is tackled as a socio cultural construction, which determines a hierarchy that includes and put people on the margin from its representation of male and female acts, ideal for a social group. Gender discourse differentiation is the product of several social technologies such as communication media, institutional discourses, several epistemologies, and daily life actions. The concept of hegemonic masculinity and its representation in audio-visual products is examined through a semiotic analysis of male characters in the series Parks and Recreation (Daniels and Schur, 2009). The analysis offers examples of masculine hierarchy and features of hegemonic, subordinated, alternative, and marginal masculinities.
The object of this study is to describe social representation about education in mass communication media such as Bio-Bio Radio. With this purpose, a corpus from newspaper articles published in the year 2013, was constructed, which was analyzed with lexicometric procedures and thematic elemental contexts. Through these procedures, it was possible to identify the main agents involved, their impulse topics and to recognize three new clusters, which marked the representation of education during the year 2013: “Mobilization,†“University system,â€Â “Reply of the political system,†with the purpose of tackling the crisis of the education system.
Narrative Structure in Short and Serial Narrations for the web
Diego Montoya Bermúdez, Helena GarcÃa Gómez
In the current context, audiovisual production and consumption in different screens have been increasing, thanks to the easy access to the audio-visual production technologies and to the low costs in audiovisual productions, which have made possible narrative interests of both professionals and amateurs, who have participated in the production of new formats; one of them, web series.
Nevertheless, at the moment scripts for such formats are being constructed, it has been noticed a notable abscense de literature which provides hints for the creation of serial narrative structure and above all with optimum technical temporalities for the web and mobile devices.
From this statement, this text intends - from a careful revision of some web series at the light of literature in both narrative and audio-visual production, to propose keys for the construction of narrative structures for such an emerging form.
This article is a reflection on “cucumber crisis†which affected Spanish agriculture producers in June, 2011 and which created a panic among European consumers. From the analysis of the crisis management, we will study several cases of public and private Spanish organizations which use the ““Cucumber crisisâ€â€ as a business opportunity and, specifically, as an opportunity for positioning and reputation before their pubic.

This article shows the results of a research on visual metaphor interpretation process in children between 3 and 4 years old. The purpose of the research was to state the visual metaphor interpretation process and the involved reasoning. Visual metaphor is understood as a phenomenon in which represented objects show transformations which result in an arising of new categories and even ambiguity, that is to say, that the object may belong to a more than one category, at the same time. A study case was carried out with a group of eight children; it is a longitudinal study, in which there is a follow-up of how they progressively access to the comprehension of the metaphor. Results allow affirming that the comprehension process implies stablishing inferential relations, which correspond to abductive inferences. Six interpretation levels are identified. In the two extreme levels, it was found that children understand that it is possible that a represented objet is transformed and, nevertheless, continues belonging to the same category. On the other hand, the most elaborated level is when the new category is constructed in a way that it emerges I the metaphorical image. It has been established that interpretations are first understood in comparison with iconic tropes. Results show the elaborated readings made by the children, which contributes elements for materials design with quality images, which consider the child as a qualified reader.

Augusto Solórzano
